MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau is monitoring two low-pressure areas.

At 3 p.m. yesterday, one of the weather systems was estimated at 115 kilometers north of Aparri, Cagayan.

Another low-pressure area was located 765 kms east-southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

At the same time, the Philippine Atmopsheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the southwest monsoon is affecting the western section of Luzon.

“Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have  cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and the low-pressure area north of Luzon,” PAGASA said in its 4 p.m. bulletin yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region and Soccsksargen will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms because of the trough of the low-pressure area east of Mindanao.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains brought by localized thunderstorm.
