Pilot dies in Davao Norte plane crash

MANILA, Philippines — An agricultural pilot died when his plane crashed after hitting a high-tension wire in Davao del Norte yesterday.

The identity of the fatality was withheld pending notification of his family members.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesman Eric Apolonio said the pilot was on a single engine agricultural aircraft on a spraying activity over a banana plantation spanning Barangay Kasilak in Panabo and Mangalcal, Carmen when the accident occurred.

In Sultan Kudarat, Vidol Ariston was injured when his spray plane crashed in Barangay Zemeben, Lambayong also yesterday.

CAAP’s Aircraft Accident and Incident Inquiry Board investigators were dispatched to assess the accidents. – John Unson
