Jeepney plunges into ravine; 1 dead

TUBA, Benguet, Philippines — A passenger died while nine others were injured when a jeepney plunged into a ravine in Sitio Saguitlang, Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet on Thursday.

Police identified the fatality as Willy Malogat. The injured, four of them minors, were taken to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.

Initial investigation showed the jeepney driver, Edgardo Cassama, 37, lost control of the wheel when the brake malfunctioned.  The jeepney rammed a boulder before it fell into the ravine.
