400 cops deployed for Bar exams
MANILA, Philippines — Starting tomorrow, the Manila Police District (MPD) will deploy more than 400 personnel around the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) during the four Sundays of the Bar examinations.
A total of 8,701 examinees have been accepted by the Office of the Bar Confidant to take this year’s exams.
MPD director for operations and chief of directorial staff Senior Superintendent Danilo Macerin said policemen would be spread out along the streets around the university: Dapitan, P. Noval, A. H. Lacson and España Boulevard.
Macerin said the liquor ban would be implemented in areas near UST starting today.
Police said P. Noval and Dapitan streets would be closed to motorists.
Fraternities will not be allowed to put up tents in the vicinity of the school.
While police will be securing the outer perimeters of UST, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation will be posted inside the school.
