Policeman, brother nabbed

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police and military intelligence forces arrested a police officer and two others in a sting Saturday night.

Police Officer 2 Edgar Deles, his brother Efren and Ricky Encilay were arrested at a village near the center of town, according to Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, spokesperson of Police Regional Office 9.

The three allegedly belong to Delta Force Drug Group, which Deles leads.

Recovered from the suspects were two heat-sealed plastic containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with a market value of P68,000.

Galvez added that the suspects have been placed under PDEA custody as they face charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs law.
