Boat capsizes off Dinagat islands; 70 rescued

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines — At least 70 passengers and crewmembers of a motorized boat, which capsized off the coast of Basilisa town on Dinagat islands, were rescued at past noon on Thursday.

Gencyrill 2 was on its way to Osmeña port when it was hit by a floating log, which created a hole and caused it to sink.

Responding Coast Guard personnel transferred the passengers and crew to another motorboat Gencyrill 4.
