Dentist arrested in drug sting

MANILA, Philippines — A dentist and several others were arrested in anti-drug operations all over Metro Manila since Wednesday.

Arnulfo Pangilinan, 56, alias Doc, was arrested in a sting along R. Lagmay street in Barangay Balong Bato, San Juan City at around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Pangilinan, who was allegedly carrying a sachet of shabu, was passing by when police arrested Ma. Theresa Bantilan, alias Baby Mata, 54.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Bowenn Joey Masauding said Pangilinan and Bantilan are on the city police’s drug watchlist.

A drug suspect identified only as Jeffrey was killed in an alleged shootout with police during a drug sting in Barangay Apolonio Samson at around 2:30 a.m. yesterday.

Police also arrested five drug suspects in Taguig; one each in San Juan and Makati and two each in Pasig and Marikina.

Fifteen persons were also arrested in separate drug sessions in Las Piñas, Parañaque and Pasay.
