P2.50 fare hike in Western Visayas OK’d
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved a P2.50 fare increase in Western Visayas.
The fare hike will be implemented as soon as the LTFRB releases its new fare matrix, Elizabeth Katalbas, Federation of Bacolod City Driver’s Association (FEBACDA) president, said yesterday.
FEBACDA filed the petition to increase the minimum fare from P6.50 to P9.
Students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities will continue to enjoy a 20 percent discount. This means they will only pay P7.50 for the first five kilometers.
