4 drug suspects gunned down

Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two persons who surrendered under Oplan Tokhang in 2016 in Kalinga, a barangay captain in Palawan and a suspected drug dealer in Cavite were shot dead in separate incidents in the past two days.

Silver Pukin, 36, and Dexter Buslig, 41, were shot by unidentified men in Barangay Dagupan Centro, Tabuk. They  were pronounced dead on arrival at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital.

Probers are looking into a double-cross between drug dealers as the motive for the killing.

Jomarie Buenavista, who was ranked third on the drug watchlist in Cavite, allegedly shot it out with a police officer who posed as a buyer of shabu in Barangay Paradahan 2, Tanza before dawn yesterday.

Pistoh Akin Hamja, chairman of Barangay Mangsee in Balabac, Palawan, fired at police officers who raided his house at around 3 a.m. yesterday, police said.

Sachets of shabu were reportedly recovered from the fatality.

In Albay, 300 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.25 million were recovered in a sting at Neuhauz Inn in Daraga, Albay yesterday. – Ed Amoroso, Cet Dematera, Celso Amo, Emmanuel Tupas
