Lightning kills 2 in Negros

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Two farm workers were killed and five others were hospitalized after they were hit by lightning in Cadiz City in Negros Occidental on Thursday .

Juvie Jumawan, 27, and Willie Barredo, 38, died at the scene.  Mark Sopueska, 17; Cristobal Magbanua, 31; Johnrel Lobrico, 18; and his cousins Jeffrey, 23, and Silverio, 43, were injured.

Superintendent Edel Jose Manzano, Cadiz police chief, said the victims were at Hacienda Porter in Barangay Andres Bonifacio at around 10 a.m. when the incident occurred.
