SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan, Philippines – A 12-year-old boy drowned as he and his cousin were swimming on a beach in this town on Saturday.
Karl Aron Ellasar was declared dead on arrival at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City, where his cousin, Shane Abegail Mapalo, was also taken for treatment.
The two were swimming in Barangay Nibaliw when they were carried away by strong currents, according to officials of the municipal disaster risk reduction and management council.
