NPA leader nabbed in Cavite

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Bicol was arrested in Barangay Hugo Perez in Trece Martinez City, Cavite yesterday morning.

Andres Hubilla of the Bicol regional party committee was collared around 9 a.m., Captain Clint Antipala, spokesman for the Southern Luzon Command, said.

Hubilla’s arrest was based on  the warrant for murder and attempted murder  issued by the Regional Trial Court of Sorsogon.

Police recovered a hand grenade, mobile phones and subversive documents from Hubilla.  

On Monday, five suspected NPA guerrillas were arrested in Barangay Jalavera around 2 a.m. The suspects yielded an improvised bomb, a caliber .45 pistol and ammunition and a vehicle.– Ed Amoroso, Jaime Laude
