State of calamity declared in Batangas
BATANGAS, Philippines – Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto yesterday placed the province under a state of calamity in the wake of the devastation brought by Typhoon Glenda.
In a special session, the provincial board passed a resolution declaring the state of calamity.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported to the board that Glenda left agricultural losses of about P458 million in four districts of Batangas.
Losses in the livestock and fisheries sectors amounted to P3.6 billion, while infrastructure damage was estimated at P891 million.
