P100K worth of shabu seized from 3 pushers

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents arrested on Wednesday in Shariff Aguak three of the town’s top 10 drug traffickers and seized from them methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) amounting to P100,000.

The suspects, Kadil Malasigan, 37, and his younger sibling, Nasrudin, 34, and Rambo Lumagan, 30, are now being questioned by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on the source of illegal drugs recovered from them during a buy-bust operation.

Felimon Ruiz, PDEA’s director for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said the suspects were immediately cuffed after they handed over to agents 200 sachets of shabu, while at one side of the public market in Shariff Aguak.

Ruiz said the three suspects are all residents of Barangay Baku, a farming district in Shariff Aguak, located in the second district of Maguindanao.

“They did not resist arrest when they noticed that the designated spot for the drug buyout was surrounded with government operatives in ordinary clothes,” Ruiz said.

Ruiz said they have recovered two cal. 45 pistols from the suspects, now clamped down at PDEA-ARMM’s detention facility in Cotabato City.

Ruiz said they will charge the three drug traffickers with violation of the Philippine Dangerous Drug Act on Friday.
