MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Monday launched an intensified campaign against erring public utity vehicle drivers, particularly cab drivers.

LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez said in a statement that with the help of the Land Transportation Office and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, traffic personnel will be more vigilant in enforcing road rules and regulations during the Holiday rush, especially those cab drivers refusing to passengers to their destinations.

"Naobserbahan namin na tuwing nalalapit ang Kapaskuhan... nagiging mapili naman ang ilang mga tsuper natin, particularly taxis, na isakay sila at dalhin sa kanilang mga patutunguhan. Kaya naman inilunsad naming ang kampanyang ito na huhuli sa mga driver na di magsasakay sa mga pasahero," Ginez said.

Under the reinvigorated "Oplan Isnabero" campaign, traffic enforcement personnel from LTFRB, MMDA and LTO will be deployed in selected malls such as SM Megamall, SM North EDSA and Ayala Trinoma as well as PUV/PUB terminals to provide public assistance and immediate action.

Help desk and hotline numbers have also been arranged with the malls and terminals to provide ample space and designated location for the team, Ginez said.

The help desks and hotline numbers will be set up with the help of the  Automobile Association of the Philippines.

The public needing assistance can approach any member of the team to file complaints against PUVs/PUBs who are charging exorbitant fares, drivers refusing conveyance, rude and erring drivers, PUVs not completing their designated routes, violation of franchise rules and regulations, and other related public land transportation issues.
