Gov. Vi saddened by police chief’s relief

The Philippine Star

BATANGAS , Philippines – Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto said on Thursday that she was saddened by the relief of one of her trusted men, Batangas provincial director Senior Superintendent Rosauro Acio.

“I felt sad upon learning about the decision. I have high respect for Atty. Rosauro Acio because we have implemented projects and programs to maintain the peace and order in the province (that have become) very effective in the community” she said in a text message to The STAR.

She, however, said she would not want to meddle in the case.

Acio, along with other police officials, was removed from his post following the killing of Fernando Morales in San Juan town last Monday morning. Morales was said to be a former employee of alleged jueteng lord Victor Siman, one of those killed in Atimonan, Quezon last Jan. 6.
