PMA has new superintendent

FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City, Philippines – The Philippine Military Academy (PMA), the country’s premier military officers’ training institution, has a new chief – Lt. Gen. Irineo Espino.

Outgoing PMA superintendent Maj. Gen. Nonato Peralta Jr. turned over his post to Espino in a ceremony presided over by AFP vice chief of staff Lt. Gen. Noel Coballes here yesterday.

Espino, a member of PMA Class Matapat of 1979, was the Armed Forces’ inspector general before he was named to the PMA post.

Peralta, also a member of PMA Class 1979, will take over as the new commander of the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division based in Tanay, Rizal, replacing Maj. Gen. Eduardo del Rosario.
