Man kills wife, 2 neighbors, then self

MANILA, Philippines - A distraught man shot dead his wife, ran amuck and killed two neighbors – a mother and her one-year-old son – and then committed suicide in Bataraza, Palawan on Monday, police said.

Senior Superintendent Reynaldo Jagmis, Palawan police director, said the suspect, Rolly Montalvo, 37, shot himself in the mouth.

Jagmis said Montalvo’s wife Evelyn, 30, died from a gunshot wound in the head, while neighbors Lolita Bangi, 28, and her son Arnold, died while being taken to the hospital.

He said a fifth victim, Darilyn Buntor, sustained a bullet wound in the ankle. 

Jagmis said Montalvo, according to his neighbors, looked distraught days before the incident.
