P20 million sought for farm-to-market roads

Kananga, Leyte, Philippines – The municipality of Kananga sought the assistance of Secretary Arthur Yap for the implementation of P 20 million worth of farm-to-market road projects in various barangays.

It was learned that Mayor Elmer Codilla visited the DA central office to follow the aforesaid request, and the respective local government unit is now processing needed documents for the project to proceed.

As part of the requirement, the Sangguniang Bayan of this town has also passed a resolution requesting Yap for the farm to market road projects, according to Codilla.

Codilla has been focusing on agricultural programs considering that vast tracks of land of this town are devoted to agricultural production and that according to him, it will help farmers improve their income once these farm to market roads are in place.                  – Roberto Dejon
