Drunk teen holds 9-year-old brod hostage

MANILA, Philippines - A drunk teenager was arrested after he reportedly held his youngest brother hostage in their house in Caloocan City shortly before noon Sunday.

Jefferson Coquia, 18, allegedly came home reeking of liquor at past 11 a.m., seized his brother, Carl, and threatened him with scissors and a broken bottle, according to investigators.

Neighbors alerted police officers, who rescued the boy.

Investigators said the family has problems but no one was willing to talk about them. Coquia is currently detained at the Caloocan police station pending the filing of charges.
