Cesar wants Sunshine cited for contempt

MANILA, Philippines - Actor-director Cesar Montano has asked a Quezon City court to cite for indirect contempt his estranged wife Sunshine Cruz after she posted on social media details of their custody case despite a gag order issued by the court.

Montano, through his lawyer Alwyn Franz Villaruel, filed a petition with the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 81 after Cruz posted on Facebook a question regarding full custody and visitation rights of the actor.

“If you are awarded full custody of the kids and the father gets visitations rights, can the father just get the kids without mom’s permission?” read a screenshot of Cruz’s post after the court issued a decision on the custody case in January.

Cruz tagged in the post Carlo Alentajan, whom Villaruel identified as the lawyer of the actress in the custody case.

“By said status update post, respondent effectively disclosed information relating to the custody of the parties’ minor children to the public,” said Villaruel.
