MPD reroutes traffic for Tondo, Pandacan festivals

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Police District (MPD) announced yesterday the rerouting of vehicular traffic for the Sto. Niño and Buling-Buling Festivals in Tondo and Pandacan this weekend.

MPD director Chief Superintendent Isagani Genabe Jr. said residents of Tondo will hold two processions – one each on Saturday and Sunday – while those in Pandacan will hold a procession today.

In Pandacan, Jesus street to Nagtahan and East Zamora to President Quirino Avenue will be closed starting at 2 p.m. to give way to the procession, which will start from Liwasang Balagtas and end on Iglesia Filipina Independiente Central street.

For the feast in Tondo, the Saturday procession will start at noon while the grand procession on Sunday will start at 8 a.m.

The MPD said all public utility jeepney drivers coming from Caloocan should turn left on Tayuman street and right on Dagupan street; all PUJ drivers from Tayuman should go straight on Capulong street and make a U-turn on Raxabago to their point of origin; and all motorists bound for Moriones should go straight on Road 10 to their point of destination.
