Man survives Navotas stabbing

MANILA, Philippines - A 52-year-old man is currently under observation at a hospital after he was stabbed several times by two men in Navotas City Thursday night.

Victim Daniel Maclan is currently confined at the Manila Central University (MCU) hospital in Caloocan City following the attack in Barangay Tangos at around 9 p.m., said Chief Inspector Marianito Cosaf.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was walking along an alley when he was stopped by two unidentified men.

Cosaf said the men overpowered the victim and dragged him to a dark area, where they stabbed him several times.

The victim was rushed to the nearby Tondo General Hospital for initial treatment. He was later transferred to MCU hospital to undergo further tests and observation.

Police have yet to determine the identity of the attackers and their motive for stabbing Maclan.
