Free MRT rides for people with disabilities

People with disabilities may enjoy free Metro Rail Transit (MRT) rides until July 23 during the week-long celebration of the 27th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.

The celebration will be held under the auspices of the National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP). This year’s theme is "Tagisan ng Lakas, Talino at Talento: May K Kaya Natin ’To."

The free rides will cover the route from North Avenue station in Quezon City to EDSA-Taft Avenue station in Pasay City.

To avail of the free rides, PWDs should present their Transportation Discounted Fare Identification Card issued by the NCWDP.

Meanwhile, PWDs who have not been issued the fare discount IDs can apply with the NCWDP by submitting the required documents to their office.

The free MRT rides for PWDs is being undertaken through the efforts of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), Metrostar Express and NCWDP.
