Guard shoots cab driver in Makati

A security guard shot and wounded a 33-year-old taxi driver last Thursday evening over a traffic altercation in Makati City.

Police Officer 3 Rio Bucalan, case investigator, said Ernesto Fulgencio, a cab driver and resident of Ronanville Executive Subdivision, Parañaque City, sustained a lone gunshot wound in the left side of his abdomen.

Police have launched a manhunt for suspect Moises Argana, a scurity guard from the Southern Security and Investigation Services Inc.

Initial investigation disclosed that Argana was manning his post at the corner of Estrella street corner Rockwell Drive in Makati City when the taxi passed by at around 8 p.m.

Argana asked the driver to stop, but instead of doing so, he moved the vehicle forward, earning the suspect’s ire. The suspect then pulled out his service firearm, a caliber .38 pistol, and shot the vehicle three times. One of the bullets hit the victim in the abdomen.

Fulgencio was taken to the Polymedic Hospital where he is currently being treated. The suspect fled after the incident.
