Swinging it in Singland

MANILA, Philippines - In case you haven’t heard, Singapore is the place to be these days, what with all the parties, events and superstars lighting up the state-country’s entertainment calendar. The recent F1 night race didn’t just headline Fernando Alonso’s sweet victory for Renault but it also hosted big name musical acts Chemical Brothers, Flo Rida and Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello in the first Avalon at Large music event.

This December banners Zouk Out (mark Dec. 11 now), fast becoming Singapore’s signature beach party that brings in musical acts from all across the globe. The lineup this year — try not to hyperventilate — includes celebrity DJs David Guetta and Tiesto, as well as DJ Jazzy Jeff and Laidback Luke, who will do their best to pump up the Sentosa strip.

In central Singapore, Christmas in the Tropics illuminates every major avenue and shopping mall with dazzling lights and overwhelming décor until the first week of January. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is experiencing its first Christmas so expect something wild and wonderful.
