Grand Allure Collection Review:High-octane designs not for the faint of heart

MANILA, Philippines - As spring ushers in the promise of new beginnings, the Grand Allure collection ushered in the new take on the evening formal. Warm, balmy nights are given special attention in this collection that offered elegant silhouettes spiced with exquisite detailing.

Albert Andrada: Maharajah nights

In a collection that is both bold and sophisticated, Albert opens strong with a heavily-embellished ivory gown complete with an attached bejeweled head dress. The rest of the collection is a lavish assortment of gowns, robes and turbans decorated with metallic and glass appliques and Swarovski crystals. Broad-shouldered jackets and silk jodhpurs were the trademarks of his menswear offering. In this over-the-top collection, the maharajah meets Queen Amidala in a soiree of sequins, silk and jewels.

Veejay Floresca: Classics are eternal

Inspired by the ferocious beauty of tornadoes and hurricanes, Veejay channels the wind in his collection marked by classic silhouettes. Gowns done in pure silk chiffon and illusion tulle evoked the feeling of sophisticated weightlessness. Half of the collection was dedicated to showcasing bridal gowns created with the wind still in mind. The attention to detail and fit has again made Veejay’s collection unforgettable in its classic elegance.
