Walang Pasok: Class suspensions for July 9 due to Typhoon Inday

MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units have suspended classes for Thursday, July 9, as Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi) and the enhanced southwest monsoon continue to affect parts of the country.

As of 5 a.m. Thursday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Inday had weakened into a typhoon but continues to threaten Northern Luzon.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains in effect over several areas as the cyclone moves west-northwestward over the Philippine Sea.

National Capital Region

  • Las Piñas City – All levels, public and private

Region III

  • Bulacan
    • San Jose del Monte City – No face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private

MIMAROPA

  • Palawan
    • Culion – All levels, public and private, including school personnel

Region VI

  • Antique
    • Barbaza – All levels, public and private (July 8 afternoon to July 10)

Region XI

  • Negros Island Region
  • Negros Occidental
    • Bago City – Kindergarten to Senior High School
    • Binalbagan – All levels, public and private (July 9 and 10)
    • Don Salvador Benedicto – All levels, public and private
    • Himamaylan City – All levels, public and private
    • La Carlota City – No face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private
  • Negros Oriental – All levels, public and private

BARMM

  • Maguindanao del Sur – All levels, public and private

Region XII

  • South Cotabato
