Walang Pasok: Class, work suspensions for July 24

MANILA, Philippines (Updated 3:44 p.m.) — Classes and government work in over 20 areas across the Philippines have been suspended for Thursday, July 24, due to the weather conditions brought by two tropical cyclones currently within the Philippine area of responsibility.
For the third consecutive day this week, classes and government work have been suspended in several parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, due to heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon (habagat). Flooding rendered major roads in the capital temporarily impassable yesterday and this morning, as local government units scrambled to rescue and evacuate affected residents.
State weather bureau PAGASA said in its advisory Wednesday morning (10 a.m.) that Tropical Depression Emong has been tracked 105 kilometers northwest of Northern Luzon, carrying winds of 45 kph and gusts up to 55 kph as it moves west-southwest at 35 kph. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Dante stayed 880 kilometers from extreme Northern Luzon with stronger 65 kph winds and 80 kph gusts, moving north-north west at 15 kph.
