Expanded PGH lauded

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go is thanking lawmakers for the passage of Republic Act 12210, which will expand the bed capacity of the Philippine General Hospital from 1,334 to 2,200.

“The PGH is a symbol of hope for Filipinos who cannot go to a private hospital,” Go said.

Emergency room congestion at the state hospital should be addressed, he noted.

Expansion of the PGH should be coupled with sustained investment in human resources, equipment and supportive facilities, he said.
