DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Col. Jose Eriel Niembra will be the Presidential Security Group (PSG) commander on May 30, replacing Brig. Gen. Lope Dagoy who earlier assumed command of the Army’s 802nd Infantry Brigade in Leyte.

Niembra, who belongs to the Philippine Military Academy Class 1991, is the current deputy commander of the PSG.

He is not a stranger to the President after previously serving as deputy commander of the Army-led Task Force Davao when Duterte was still mayor.

Niembra, who has been described as a silent worker who accomplishes tasks without fanfare, also assists the President in various capacities here.
