Protesters at a demonstration at the People Power Monument in Quezon City following the burial of Ferdinand Marcos was buried at the Heroes' Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016. Marcos was accused of widespread violations of human rights and corruption, was ousted as dictator in 1986 through a people's revolution. Saying there are no technical and legal impediments, the Supreme Court recently allowed his burial at the Heroes' Cemetery, which President Rodrigo Duterte ordered.

The Marcos family decided to hold a private burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani for late patriarch Ferdinand Marcos, who served as president and dictator of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986, on Friday, Nov 18. 2016, despite widespread opposition.

The sudden burial of the deceased leader at the Heroes' Cemetery, a national shrine in Taguig City, surprised many who condemned the move as deceptive and divisive. Follow this page for updates on the protests and other developments.
