ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – You can’t help staring at her.
Speaking to soldiers at Camp Sang-An in Pulacan, Labangan town in Zamboanga del Sur yesterday, President Duterte expressed effusive admiration for Vice President Leni Robredo, describing her as ladylike, kind and beautiful.
Duterte’s meeting with the soldiers was carried live on local cable television.
He said if he would not be lucky in his travels while visiting different areas as part of his duty, the country would have a new president, a woman – referring to Robredo.
Duterte said, however, the troops would no longer listen to her but would just keep on staring “Because she is beautiful.”
Duterte related an occasion when he was addressing an audience and his attention was diverted because Robredo’s skirt was raised a bit.
“I said to myself, don’t do it, the President would be ashamed. But actually I kept on staring at her,” Duterte said, his facial expression eliciting laughter from the soldiers and personnel inside the gym.
“She is beautiful, she is ladylike. She is kind. I have no problem with her as Cabinet member,” Duterte said.
