All systems go for a game-changing AdCongress22

- Chonx Tibajia -

MANILA, Philippines - Resorts World Manila’s Passion Café was host to a soiree of major players in Philippine advertising and media when The Philippine STAR hosted a press conference for the Philippine AdCongress22 yesterday.

The AdCongress executive committee, comprised of Ad Congress chair Sandy Prieto Romualdez, Margot Torres (programs), Blen Fernando (administration), Merlee Jayme (Creatives), Ricky Alegre (special events), Connie Kalagayan (internal affairs), Doris Bermudez (secretariat), Emil Yap (external affairs), and Miguel G. Belmonte (PR and publicity) revealed more about the upcoming event, together with AdBoard chairman Andre Kahn, Camarines Sur Governor Lray Villafuerte, and Naga City Mayor John Bongat, who also joined the panel discussion, facilitated by Barbie Atienza.

Set to be held for the very first time at the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) in Camarines Sur on Nov. 16 to 19, AdCongress22 is driven by the theme “Change the Game,” which alludes to the unique set of challenges and realities that the industry is facing today, while showcasing the winning mindset of advertising and media professionals dedicated to not only evolving but improving with the times.

This year’s AdCongress will be hosted by the media sector, composed of the five media member associations, namely the United Print Media Group, the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines, the Independent Blocktimers Association, the Cinema Advertisers Association of the Philippines and the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines, together with the Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard).

In an effort to keep the industry at par with the best in the world, AdCongress22 will feature speakers who are game-changers in their respective fields, such as author of the bestselling book “Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies” Charlene Li, as well as internationally-acclaimed Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue, film director Brilliante Mendoza, Preview magazine editor in chief and media crossover success Pauline Juan, and local football heroes of Team Azkals.

Bridging the gap between print and television, top television networks ABS-CBN, GMA-7 and TV-5 will likewise be represented by their head honchos, Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez, Felipe Gozon and Manuel V. Pangilinan, respectively, in an unprecedented discussion that gathers the three media giants in one venue.

Experts from various international companies such as McCann Worldgroup, Freemantle Asia, SPE Networks Asia, Disney Channel, Nestlé Philippines, and Leo-Burnett Worldwide, are likewise expected to share their own strategies for succeeding in the global arena.

Of course, no AdCongress is complete without the prestigious ARAW Awards, which has implemented a game-changing practice of its own by going all-digital.

Apart from these, delegates, exhibitors and other participants can experience the water facilities of CWC, which was once host to popular reality show Survivor, as well as enjoy taking part in various sports activities like Amazing Quest: The Race to CamSur, which is open to all delegates.

Thanks to the full support of the local and city government, who are on top of creating the best possible atmosphere for a fun, unique, safe, and well-arranged venue, the Board is confident that this year’s Ad Congress will be the best one yet.

“We’re just going to do our best to present a congress that will inspire the industry and allow them to come together. We want everyone to experience and learn together and have fun,” Romualdez said.
