MANILA, Philippines — Universal Pictures dropped a new trailer for Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic adaptation of "The Odyssey" featuring more clips of Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron.

The new trailer begins with Matt Damon's Odysseus recounting his family and the Trojan War to Theron's Calypso, the nymph whose island is the Greek hero's last destination before returning home to Ithaca after two decades.

Pattinson makes his first appearance as Antinous, a primary suitor of Odysseus' wife Penelope, played by Anne Hathaway.

"This is a household waiting for a master," Antinous tells Penelope. "I want you to choose me."

Penelope, who in one clip is seen holding up Odysseus' bow, is adamant that her husband will return but Antinous scoffs at the idea.

Odysseus and Penelope's son Telemachus (Tom Holland) confides in John Leguizamo's Eumaeus what he thinks Odysseus would say if he saw Penelope being chased by suitors — a thought that must have irked Antinous.

"You're pining for a daddy you didn't even know, like some snivelling bastard," Antinous taunts Telemachus.

The conversations are cut over Odysseus and his crew's adventures, including an escape from the cyclops Polyphemus, the edge of Oceanus to speak with the dead, and a fight with Laestrygonians.

"You're a man who needs to control his fate, but you cannot control this," Calypso tells Odysseus over clips of the latter at sea and of his beloved dog Argos.

Odysseus is set on returning to Penelope and Telemachus, even as he faces dangers like Scylla and Charybdis.

"No one could stand between me and home, not even the gods," Odysseus says inside Polyphemus' cave before the title card flashes and  the trailer ends.

The other appearances in the trailer include Benny Safdie as Agamemnon, king of Mycenae, and his brother Menelaus the king of Sparta played by Jon Bernthal.
