Since Mother’s Day is fast approaching, allow me to pay tribute to my SuperwoMOM, Inday Badiday, by sharing some of her “Mommyisms.” Even if it’s been 23 years since Ma got her call slip from heaven, people still call me “Anak ni Inday Badiday.” It’s like a badge I wear with pride. That never fails to make me smile. It goes to show that Ma left an indelible mark in people’s hearts.

From Day One, our journey together was extraordinary. Ma gave birth to me in a taxicab. She was choosing among the names Taxina, Lotus (the taxi company) and Ma. Dolly Anne (because I came out in a jiffy). Good thing she decided to use the third name. Even when I was still a newborn baby, she could already read my mind. I would dread being named Taxina or Lotus. That unusual kind of “delivery” set the tone for our “crazy,” colorful life as mother and daughter. Someday, I hope I can write a book about our story.

Thank you, Ma, for blazing the trail and for teaching me by example how to love well. Being your daughter will always be my best credential. I miss you with every breath I take and I love you with every beat of my heart.

Here go some of her “Mommyisms”:

Look at how a guy treats his mom. That’s how he will treat you when you marry him.

When I asked Ma why she didn’t sue people who duped her financially, her reply was, “As long as I see that their kids are taken care of and doing well, the money they ‘stole’ from me didn’t go to waste. So, I’m fine with that.”

Ma’s original extro line in her radio program back in the day was “Sa Gusot, May Lusot.”

When you want to end a relationship, don’t wait till you deteriorate. Leave while your dignity is still intact.

Don’t compare yourself to others. If you keep looking their way, you will lose focus on your own path.

Go with the winners.

Be thankful even for the smallest blessings.

When I asked Ma how she felt when some of the people she gave a big break to in the biz left her side and hosted other talk shows, her reply was, “I just paved the way for them. The rest is up to them.”

The tandem of Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji will be featured in ‘Viva One Originals’ anthology, which captures their chemistry as a duo and allows each to take on new dynamics beyond their pairing.

RabGel’s anthology now on Viva One

I felt like a third wheel while interviewing Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji on my DollywoodPH YouTube Channel. Watch out for their episode, which will drop soon on my vlog. They are such “kilig providers.” The cute RabGel tandem is on a roll.

After making waves with their movie, “A Werewolf Boy,” they headline an anthology in “Viva One Originals: RabGel.” Two episodes feature Rabin and Angela capturing their chemistry as a duo, while the other two place them in separate stories, allowing each to take on new dynamics beyond their pairing.

The pilot episode, which drops on May 15, is an explosive action-romance, “Ang Rider Kong Hoodlum.” Next is the chaotic comedy, “Same Day Error” (May 22), topbilled by Jerald Napoles and Rab. Then comes the quirky rom-com, “My CEO Thinks I’m a Robot” (May 29), where Angela is joined by Carlo Aquino. Wrapping up the series is an unusual love story, “Us Maybe” (June 5).

Binge-watch the episodes on Viva One and imbibe RabGel’s giddy vibe.

Here are quotes from Rab and Gel:

Rab: “At first, I was nervous if I could do comedy alongside the master of the genre, Kuya Jerald. But he guided me and taught me the art of timing. So, my punchlines won’t fall flat.”

Gel: “The toughest episode to shoot was the one where I pretended to be a robot. I had to make it believable without coming across as comical. To top it all, I had to pull it off while working with Kuya Carlo Aquino… whew!”

Rab: “I wanna do horror next. Perhaps a Pinoy version of ‘The Grunge.’ I look like the grunge when I make my eyes big. It’s a dream of Gel and mine to have an MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival) entry. We will keep manifesting that.”

Gel: “With Rab and I, what you see is what you get. There’s nothing manufactured about our chemistry. The attraction is there, but for now, we are focusing on our work as a tandem.”

Rab: “Gel and I are each other’s lucky charm. Since our tandem started, our lives and careers changed for the better.”

Gel: “If Rab and I had our way, we would like to gatekeep our tandem. But if and when Viva decides to pair us off with other stars, we will not get in the way. We will support each other’s growth, but we won’t grow apart.”

‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0’ Big Winner Caprice Cayetano is all set to win more hearts.

Caprice enters post-‘PBB’ era

After being named the Big Winner of “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0,” Caprice Cayetano is all set to win more hearts. Powered by her “PBB” main character energy, she has stepped out of Bahay ni Kuya and moved into her full bloom era.

Here’s my chat with Caprice:

What’s your takeaway from your ‘PBB’ stint?

“What Kuya said na ‘Piliin na laging magpapakatao kesa sa pagpapakatotoo.’ He even gave us all a bracelet with the word ‘pagpapakatao’ engraved on it.”

What’s your most memorable moment in the ‘PBB’ house?

“My 17th birthday. We had a sleepover in the garden area. We’ve always wanted to do that. We were all beside each other while watching out for the ball.”

You’ve been a Kapuso since you were five. What’s one lesson you learned along the way that you keep in mind till today?

“Not to forget where I came from, to be kind to everyone on the set and give my 100 percent all the time.”

Why did you choose Little Ark Foundation (LAF) as your beneficiary?

“Because we are only children once. So, I want to ease the burden of the kids in LAF. So, they can fully enjoy their childhood.”
