The SexBomb dancers pose with the audiences after one of their sold-out shows in February. They are set to hold their ‘Get, Get Aw! rAWnd 6’ concert on April 30 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.

Some members of the girl group SexBomb refused to comment on Alvin Aragon, the husband of their fellow member Izzy Trazona, who previously stirred online controversy due to his remarks about his wife’s departure from the group and about Izzy’s firstborn, Sofia, a trans woman.

Sofia is the trans child of Izzy from her previous relationship with Michael Navarro.

SexBomb’s Weng Ibarra, Jovel Palomo and Mae Acosta-Valdes recently showed support to their fellow member, TV5’s “Sing Galing: Sing-lebrity Edition” 2026 grand finalist Monic Icban, during the finals night of the show.

When asked about their reaction to the statements of Alvin, a former “StarStruck” aspirant, they all replied, “No comment.’”

“We prefer to stay out of their family matters. We respect the couple and we’re okay with Izzy,” Weng added.

“We respect every one’s decision and convictions. If that’s Alvin and Izzy’s conviction, we respect that,” Monic said. “The conviction of SexBomb girls is also different. We just want to make people happy and create nostalgic moments for those who grew up with SexBomb. Yung sa kanila po iba pong usapang spiritual, iba po yung usapang sa labas.”

Jovel stated, “To be with Ate Izzy on stage again, we are already very thankful. Wala na pong paglagyan yung kasiyahan mga puso namin dahil finally nakasama namin siya.”

Monic continued that Izzy’s gesture of showing up on stage during one of their reunion shows was already a way of expressing her support. “We appreciated what she did. And whatever it is that you’re asking about Alvin and Izzy, stand nila po kasi yun. So iba naman po yung sa amin, iba naman po yung sa kanila. Dun po papasok yung respeto po.”

Monic also clarified that the name SexBomb doesn’t define what kind of women they are. “When it comes to pagpa-sexy, yun nga po yung tinitingnan yung isang tao, nasa sayo yun ‘di ba po? ‘Di ba po tinitingnan mo ang isang babae ng ganun siyang klase na hindi mo tinitingnan yung pagkatao niya, her background, nasa sayo po yung mali.”

SexBomb is just a name, stressed Monic. “Hindi po nito ina-identify kung anong klase kaming babae, how we live every day, kung paano kami nakilala ng mga tao, ng mga kaibigan namin,” she explained.

“I guess people should also do their research kung ano bang klase ang pangalang SexBomb like who we are bago nila bigyan ng connotation na ang SexBomb ay ganitong mga babae. Maybe they should find out how the SexBomb started and who we really are. They shouldn’t get stuck on the name because it’s just a name. It doesn’t define our character.”

Nevertheless, the girls felt blessed and grateful for the overwhelming success of their reunion concert, dubbed “Get, Get, Aw!: The SexBomb Concert.” The five sold-out shows kicked off last December at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and continued in February this year at the SM Mall of Asia.

The “Get, Get Aw! rAWnd 6” concert is scheduled on April 30 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.

The group postponed their United Arab Emirates shows last late March due to the Middle East crisis.

Monic shared that Rochelle had a hard time looking for a producer to mount their reunion concert. “No one trusted us kasi kwarentahin na mga tita nila ganun. Haha! The group themselves were the ones who found the courage to give our group one more time to create memories together. They were the ones who started it and the rest is history — more producers came in, and everything eventually sold out.”

Jovel, Mae and Weng are forever grateful to their longtime and new fans who attended their shows.

“We couldn’t believe that so many people still love SexBomb even though we’re in our 30s and 40s. We returned to our childlike hearts,” expressed Jovel.

“It’s true what they said — that they can now really support and stand up for us because they already have jobs. They were the ones who truly pushed us to make this happen, like these concerts, so thank you so much,” added Weng.
