How fitness star Amotti’s life changed after ‘Physical: Asia,’ fatherhood

AFTER HIS WINS IN NETFLIX’S “PHYSICAL: 100 SEASON 2 – UNDERGROUND” AND “PHYSICAL: ASIA,” where Team Korea took the title, South Korean CrossFit athlete Amotti shared that his life has changed dramatically and has motivated him to further pursue his fitness journey.
“To be honest, a lot of things have changed. Before, I used to workout just for fun, just because I enjoyed working out. But after the success, I got to enjoy exercising even more. I can say that my life has truly changed,” Amotti, whose real name is Kim Jae-hong, declared through an interpreter during the “Rethink Healthy Influencer Summit” held in Mandaluyong City.
Recalling his stint in “Physical: Asia,” he cited the sack toss challenge against the Philippines’ Justin Hernandez as the most memorable moment of his run on the show.
Amotti first flew out of South Korea in 2017, which was also his first visit to the Philippines for a CrossFit competition where he won second place. “And from that point, I felt that I had to be one of the greats when it comes to CrossFit. I want to be the best CrossFit athlete in Korea,” he said.

The health summit marked his third visit in the country and the shortest. “It’s actually the shortest (visit). I wanted to stay but due to my schedule, I wasn’t able to do so. So I feel very sad but excited for today.”
He was, nevertheless, grateful that every time he comes to the Philippines, he gets to create “very wonderful memories” with his fans. “I’ll make sure that next time I visit, I see you all (thriving), and I hope everyone stays healthy. Thank you very much,’” he added.
Amotti further shared that he had suffered an ankle injury in the past. But instead of giving up, he maintained an optimistic outlook on life and continued doing what he does best – working out.
“When I had an accident with my ankle, the doctor personally told me, ‘Mr. Amotti, there might be a possibility that you won’t be able to walk again or run again,’” he recalled. “When I heard the news, I was like petrified for years. But I told myself that this is what I’m best at. I just continue persevering. And I think that this brought me the success that I have today.”
“Since I knew to myself how passionate I am when it comes to working out — how I love working out — I just thought to myself, ‘Let me just continue this.’ Through that shift, I didn’t expect it, but I achieved a lot of good results, good performances with myself as well,” he reflected.
As an athlete, Amotti personally believes that everyone has their own definition of what it means to be healthy. He, for one, follows his own routine.
“What I do for myself is create routines. I set what time I’m gonna wake up and work out. I even set time when I go to the bathroom. If you just set up a daily schedule, it creates your own biorhythm that you can follow naturally.”
In 2024, Amotti married his girlfriend in Seoul and recently became a father. Since then, fatherhood has influenced the way he views his overall well-being.
“From just taking care of myself, now I have a new born baby (to take care of). I have to be responsible, everything is just different. A while ago, I told Justin that in my daily routine, I work out twice a day. But he told me, ‘When you have a child, you can’t do that anymore.’”
He also mentioned that he has invested in stocks and other ventures to create opportunities for himself and manage his finances.
Amotti was joined by AIA brand ambassadors Wil Dasovich, Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico and fellow content creators at the “Rethink Healthy Influencer Summit.” AIA Philippines chief executive officer (CEO) Melita Teo, AIA Philippines chief marketing officer Melissa Henson, AIA Life planner Grace Quinto, MediCard CEO Julian Mengual, MindNation co-founder and environmentalist Cat Triviño, psychologist Francine Bofill and TikTok’s Charissa Kow were also in attendance.
The event was hosted by AIA Philippines, formerly Philam Life.
“‘Rethink Healthy’ is about helping people turn intention into action. Filipinos already understand what it means to be healthy. Our focus now is demonstrating that choosing health is genuinely within reach through small, everyday choices that can help them live healthier, longer, better lives,” said Melissa.
