Book Club turns real: ‘PBB’ housemates face of nationwide book scavenger hunt
MANILA, Philippines — There was once an unofficial book club in the last edition of “Pinoy Big Brother,” and now, some of its members are part of a squad associated with a beloved Filipino book store.
Kira Balinger and Josh Ford were linked to this club inside the TV house where they engage with their fellow housemates on their favorite books while confined for over months inside the house.
Now, their love for reading is amplified when they are named part of the National Book Squad, a group of Gen Z creators tapped by popular book shop National Book Store.
The Filipino book store has tapped on the power of influence of these popular housemates that they also included the other housemates, including Big Winner Mika Salamanca, as well as Esnyr, Ralph de Leon and Will Ashley.
Interestingly, Mika recently launched her own children’s book titled “Lipad.”
The “PBB” housemates are going to make picking a book and reading it exciting by dropping special books across all National Book Store branches nationwide.
Those who are able to locate the hidden special books will get prizes, including a new Apple iPad, flight vouchers, or a DJI Osmo 3.
Those interested will have to check on the social media channels of National Book Store for clues.
