MANILA, Philippines — 1975 Bb. Pilipinas first runner-up Herminia Nenita “Nettes” Gemora Hernandez (now Jison) is back in the pageant scene after four decades when she was officially crowned as 2019 Mrs. Tourism Philippines.

She will vie in the forthcoming third edition of the Mrs. Tourism Pageant, set to be staged in Manila on Oct. 14 to 28, with 30 accomplished married women from different countries competing. Five major titles are at stake: Mrs. Tourism Universe, World, International, Earth and Globe.

“After my kids have all graduated from college and have settled in the US, I asked myself what’s the next chapter of my life going to be? We all serve a purpose in life. The challenge is to find it. Happiness and peace of mind are priceless,” shared Nettes during her official crowning as Mrs. Tourism Philippines 2019 by Mrs. Tourism Pageants president/CEO Ovette Ricalde and marketing director Richard Hiñola.

Nettes is a native of Bacolod City and married to Jaridom Jison for 33 years. They have four children and are residing in Minnesota, USA. A businesswoman currently based in Las Piñas, Nettes is the interim president of Hemz Development Corporation, her parents’ business venture.

She’s a staunch advocate of the “Save the Earth” campaign, which helps in the protection and preservation of the natural environment. Her personal motto in life is “live, laugh and love” and she strongly believes to be an impeccable version of oneself.
