Paolo Contis shares ‘Tabing Ilog’ throwback photo with John Lloyd Cruz

MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actor Paolo Contis posted a throwback photo reminiscing the days of their ‘90s afternoon youth-oriented drama series “Tabing Ilog.” 

In his Instagram account, Paolo posted a photo of him with “Tabing Ilog” co-actor John Lloyd Cruz kissing him on the cheek. He said the first episode of “Tabing Ilog” was shown on the same day of his birthday in 1999.

“Nung March 14, nag celebrate ako ng birthday ko... pero 20 years ago, 1999, kasabay ng aking kaarawan pinalabas ang unang episode ng #TabingIlog,” Paolo wrote.

He jokingly added that his character Badong and John Lloyd’s Rovic were the ones that ended up in the series, but this was never shown. 

“Eto ang litratong nagpapatunay na si Rovic at si Badong ang nagkatuluyan sa ending! Hindi lang pinalabas!” he said. 

“Tabing Ilog” was shown in ABS-CBN for more than four years. Apart from Paolo and John Lloyd, other cast members of the show included Paula Peralejo, Patrick Garcia, Jodi Sta. Maria, Desiree del Valle, Baron Geisler and Kaye Abad.
