Coco Martin and Vice Ganda will rival at the upcoming MMFF Leandicho
Magic 8: MMFF names eight official entries

MANILA, Philippines — A thriller, a fantasy-comedy, an action-comedy and romance are some of the films moviegoers can look forward to starting Christmas day, when the 44th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) opens in cinemas nationwide.

The MMFF Selection Committee, headed by National Artist for Literature  Bienvenido Lumbera, announced the rest of the official entries to this year’s MMFF on October 9 at Club Fiipino, Greenhills.

The Magic 8 or the eight official entries are:


- Viva Films/Aliud Entertainment, directed by Yam Laranas and starring Anne Curtis

“Girl in the Orange Dress”

- Quantum Films/MJM Productions/Star Cinema, directed by Jay Abello, starring Jericho Rosales and Jessy Mendiola

“Fantastica: The Princesses, The Prince and the Perya”

Vice Ganda - Leandicho

-ABS-CBN Productions/ Viva Fillms,  directed by Barry Gonzales and starring Vice Ganda, Dingdong Dantes, Richard Gutierrez, Maris Racal and Maymay Entrata

“Jack En Popoy: The Puliscredibles”

Coco Martin — Leandicho

-CCM Films Productions/MZET Productions/APT Entertainment, directed by Rodel Nacianceno, and starring Vic Sotto, Coco Martin, and Maine Mendoza

“Mary, Marry Me" 

-Ten17P, directed by Rc delos Reyes, and starring Sam Milby, Toni Gonzaga and Alex Gonzaga

“One Great Love”

-Regal Entetainment, Inc, directed by Enrico Quizon and starring Kim Chiu and Dennis Trillo


-Horseshoe Studios directed Jovinor Tan, and starring Ricci Rivero, Jerome Ponce and John Estrada

“Rainbow’s Sunset”

Heaven’s Best Entertainment, directed by Joel Lamangan and starring Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia and Tony Mabesa

The awards night is set on December 27 at The Theatre at Solaire. MMFF 2018 will end on January 7, 2019.
