Magic 8: MMFF names eight official entries
MANILA, Philippines — A thriller, a fantasy-comedy, an action-comedy and romance are some of the films moviegoers can look forward to starting Christmas day, when the 44th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) opens in cinemas nationwide.
The MMFF Selection Committee, headed by National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera, announced the rest of the official entries to this year’s MMFF on October 9 at Club Fiipino, Greenhills.
The Magic 8 or the eight official entries are:
“Aurora”
- Viva Films/Aliud Entertainment, directed by Yam Laranas and starring Anne Curtis
“Girl in the Orange Dress”
- Quantum Films/MJM Productions/Star Cinema, directed by Jay Abello, starring Jericho Rosales and Jessy Mendiola
“Fantastica: The Princesses, The Prince and the Perya”

The awards night is set on December 27 at The Theatre at Solaire. MMFF 2018 will end on January 7, 2019.
