NEW YORK — Cable channel MTV has released its list of nominees for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards to be held in Radio City Music Hall on August 20.

Rapper Cardi B leads with 10 nominations including Artist of the Year, followed by The Carters (Jay-Z and Beyonce) with eight, and Childish Gambino and Drake with seven each.

Also nominated for Artist of the Year are Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Camila Cabello, Drake and Post Malone.

In the Video of the Year category, Ariana’s “No Tears Left to Cry,” Mars’s “Finesse (Remix)” featuring Cardi B, Cabello’s “Havana” featuring Young Thug, The Carters’ “APES**T,” Gambino’s “This Is America” and Drake’s –“God's Plan” are nominated.

Mars’s “Finesse (Remix)” featuring Cardi B, Cabello’s “Havana” featuring Young Thug, Drake’s “God's Plan,” Dua Lipa’s “New Rules,” Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and Post Malone’s “rockstar” featuring 21 Savage are battling out to dominate the Song of the Year category.

Cardi B also led the nominations in the Best New Artist category, alongside fellow nominees Bazzi, Chloe x Halle, Hayley Kiyoko, Lil Pump and Lil Uzi Vert.

For the Best Collaboration award, the nominees are Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line for “Meant to Be,” Bruno Mars and Cardi B for “Finesse (Remix)”, The Carters for “APES**T,” Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B and DJ Khaled for “Dinero,” Logic, Alessia Cara and Khalid for “1-800-273-8255” and N.E.R.D and Rihanna for “Lemon.”
