Sarah Geronimo awarded 'Best Philippine Act' in New York

MANILA, Philippines — Actress and pop star Sarah Geronimo was recently hailed as “Best Philippine Act” by an international award-giving body in New York.
Golden Panther Awards 2018, which honors international music artists from all over the globe, hailed Sarah G as the “Best Philippine Act” in a red carpet ceremony on February 25 in New York City. The award was based on fan votes.
The honor coincides with Sarah’s 15th anniversary in showbiz. Fifteen years ago, in 2003, Sarah became the grand champion of singing contest “Star For A Night,” and this started her journey to stardom.
The pop icon will mark her 15th anniversary through a grand concert, “This 15 Me,” on April 14 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
According to reports, the concert is already sold out, but a new section will be added to accommodate more fans.
Sarah is also working on the finishing touches of her latest movie with James Reid and Xian Lim, “Miss Granny,” Filipino version of the South Korean flick that tells of an old woman who regains her youth and changes her name to find love and happiness.
