MANILA, Philippines — Ever since Pia Wurtzbach seized the most coveted Miss Universe title in December, she has gotten worldwide recognition. With a bejeweled crown on her head and a massive followers, how does a Miss Universe keep her feet on the ground?

After her courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III at Malacañang on Tuesday, Wurtzbach, dressed in a rose quartz neoprene terno, proceeded to a press conference where she revealed her secret to being grounded.

According to the 26-year-old beauty queen, the technique is to not let everything be about her.

"I talk to everybody. I ask them how they are doing. I try not to make it all about me, just about me, but I want to get involved with other people as well and talk to them and communicate with them because information keeps going out but no information is coming in. So that’s how I do it,” Wurtzbach explained to the reporters.

Wurtzbach also mentioned that simply seeing the Philippines reminds her of the steps she took to get to where she is now, and that itself is very humbling.

Before flying back here to the Philippines for her grand homecoming, Wurtzbach has already had numerous interviews and events in New York, where the headquarters of the Miss Universe Organization is located. Filipinos welcomed her on Monday with a homecoming parade in Pasay, Manila and Makati.
