Q.C.’s musical Diamond Jubilee

MANILA, Philippines -  The CompanY with Tippy Dos Santos singing Jose Mari Chan songs…Christian Bautista and the UP Madrigal Singers on the opening song Magkaisa…Production number with Sam Concepcion, Karylle, Aicelle Santos, Rachel Alejandro and Joanna Ampil…and another fun song-and-punchline number by Robert Seña, Jose Mari Chan and Isay Alvarez.

Those were among the highlights of the glitzy 75th (Diamond Jubilee) celebration of Quezon City last Oct. 12 at the Araneta Coliseum led by Speaker Sonny Belmonte and Q.C. Mayor Herbert Bautista.

Hosted by Korina Sanchez, Ryan Agoncillo and Iza Calzado, the show featured Kapuso and Kapamilya stars and many others including (aside from those mentioned earlier) Pokwang, Jay-R, Kris Lawrence, Elmo Magalona, Bayang Barrios, Lolita Carbon, Bugoy Drilon, AKA Jam and The Maneuvers.

The ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra also performed, conducted by musical director Gerard Salonga and Ryan Cayabyab. A new Q.C. theme song composed by Jim Paredes was launched at the event. — Photos by CARLO OROSA
