MANILA, Philippines - Valerie Weigmann bested 25 other candidates and seized the Miss World 2014 Philippines crown on Sunday night.
Aside from winning the most coveted title, she also bagged majority of the special awards including the Best in Bikini and Best in Long Gown.
But without the sparkling gown and dazzling crown, who really is Valerie Weigmann?
Here are a few things you need to know about our new queen.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1989 to a German father and a Filipina mother (from Bicol). Her father died when she was still 14 years old.
She was raised in Germany and studied at the Werner-von-Siemens Realschule, Wiesbaden.
On October 2013, she became an On-the-Job trainee as a writer at Eat Bulaga’s segment Juan for All, All for Juan. She also did some appearances on the segment as well, when she became a co-host of Jose Manalo.
She was a housemate on the "PBB" Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus!
She loves Hello Kitty and Tweety Bird. And yes, she definitely loves cats!
She's basically an animal lover...of almost all kinds.
She is a Lana Del Rey fan.

Valerie’s advocacy is Musikaramay, a fundraising movement dedicated to indigenous peoples; specifically, the Aetas of Tarlac.
She will represent the country in Miss World 2014 pageant this coming December 14 in London, England. Philippines' Megan Young is currently sitting on the Miss World International throne. Will there be a back-to-back win for the Filipinos this year?
