Chuck Smith, Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - (UPDATED) “It's Showtime” co-host Billy Crawford was detained at a police station in Taguig City after a row with a police officer, reports said Sunday.

Crawford may face a malicious mischief charge after hitting a desk officer at the Bonifacio Global City Police Community Precinct 7, GMA News said in a televised report.

The ABS-CBN talent also reportedly damaged the precinct's glass door.

Prior to the actor's reported outburst, Crawford, with a female companion, approached the police station for assistance. He allegedly hit the cop after being told that he would be brought to the Taguig City Police Headquarters.

Crawford's camp confirmed that the actor-TV host currently detained at the police station.

In a radio interview on Sunday, Billy apologized to the police officer he had a confrontation with.

“It was my fault pero wala akong nasaktan, wala akong tinulak, wala akong tinamaan kundi 'yung salamin," he said.

Billy added, "To be honest with you, I don’t see anything wrong with what I did. It was my fault for actually being aggressive. Buti na lang it didn’t happen in a bar, it didn’t happen anywhere else. It happened in a precinct. The reason why is because I knew for a fact I needed to be in a controlled environment. So as I said, I really apologize to the officers if I said anything derogatory or anything else."

He admitted to drinking prior the incident. "Maybe lessen the alcohol and act like a grown up. It’s really immature and it’s a shame for me," Billy said when asked what he learned from the incident.
