Vice Ganda says he won't hurt Terrence Romeo

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – Vice Ganda said he chooses not to defend himself over the statements given by PBA player Terrence Romeo, the man rumored to be his ex-boyfriend.

“Gusto kong ipagtanggol yung sarili ko pero ayokong may taong masaktan at mapahiya kapag lalo kong pinagtanggol ang sarili ko,” the comedian said in an interview aired in ABS-CBN's showbiz talk show “The Buzz” on Sunday.

In an interview with sports news site Spin.ph, the GlobalPort Batang Pier player denied he had a relationship with Vice.

Terrence's father, William, also defended Terrence in the interview.

In his interview with “The Buzz,” Vice said he never clarified or admitted the rumors linking him to the PBA player.

“I never confirmed anything. I never said we were together. Wala akong tahasang, diretang sinabing Terrence Romeo,” the 'It's Showtime” co-host said. “Wala akong sinabing masama tungkol sa kanya and I will never say anything ill about him.”

He also said, “Gusto kong ipagtanggol yung sarili ko pero ayokong may taong masaktan at mapahiya kapag lalo kong pinagtanggol ang sarili ko. Ayokong manakit ng taong mahalaga sa akin. Ayokong manakit ng kaibigan.”

The 38-year-old actor added Terrence called him to clarify and apologize for the statements that came out on the article. Vice said he felt pity for Terrence after listening to the interview because “parang napaglaruan sila nung nag-iinterview.”

“Yung sakto na-quote sa kanya, binigay sa kanya. It was spoon-fed.

As for Terrence's father, Vice said he respects his opinion over the issue.

Terrence is currently being linked to Vice after the comedian posted a cryptic message on his Twitter account regarding his breakup with his unidentified boyfriend.

“i TRied  but im TiRed. time To Rest,” Vice tweeted.

Many fans speculated that the capitalized letters on the tweets are initials of Vice's boyfriend.

"“I believe the only way to keep him is to let him go," Vice said in a previous television interview regarding his breakup.
