Pride and Glory in CamSur

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Solar Sports, in partnership with Saved by the Bell Promotions and the Province of Camarines Sur, caps off the summer season with a bang as it presents Pride and Glory tomorrow, May 26, 6 p.m. at the Capitol Convention Center, Pili, Camarines Sur. The boxing spectacle is part of the celebration of Kaogma Festival.

Pride and Glory is headlined by Al Sabaupan returning to his birthplace as he tries to defend his hometown against SadikiMomba of Tanzania. The southpaw looks to follow up on his impressive eighth-round knockout victory versus RachamongkolSorPleonchit just two months prior. Sabaupan’s kababayan will undoubtedly rally behind its local hero as he tries to notch another victory and make noise in the boxing world.

Also on the card is Pili’s own Michael Dasmariñas facing off with Elbert Guardiario in the bantamweight division. “Hot and Spicy,” as the 21-year-old is called aims to live up to his moniker and continue his rise to superstardom, winning 15 of his last 16 fights, nine by knockout.

Meanwhile, Philippine Junior Featherweight champion JR Magboo puts his undefeated record on the line against the up-and-coming fighter Verge Puton.

Witness the country’s most promising fighters as they go head on for victory. Admission is free. Exciting prizes and activities await those in attendance.
